Difference Between AC and DC Welding Machine?

First, it is entirely possible welding and exchanges. But if you want the DC is usually in a bridge rectifier diode to complete.

Alternating current from the welder by welding torch, by grounding cable and go back to your machine. It then flows in the opposite direction. The result is a deep penetration in the weld and remove impurities. It is mainly used for aluminum and alloys. DC has both positive and negative two settings: The difference is the direction of the current. A mobile welder, by torch, through the material and return to the ground; the other in the opposite direction flow.

AC machine can only run in one direction, but the DC machines can run in both directions depending on the current direction. If we change the polarity of the input supply can reverse the movement of the direction of our DC motor.

The above answer is not entirely correct, because it is very easy to change the direction of an AC motor. For example, changing the direction of rotation of three-phase induction motor, motor controller switch two three-conductor wire.

The main difference is the use of direct current speed of the machine easier to control, but that is a thing of the past due to the development of electronic motion controller.
